Successful candidates will be involved in USDA and U of I funded project that aims to improve durability and fire resistance of wood building materials. This is a highly interdisciplinary research project and successful candidates at the PhD level are expected to hold a Bachelor and Master’s degree related to the proposed topics of the study, preferably in wood science/products, agricultural/biological engineering, chemical engineering, materials science & engineering, chemistry, or closely related disciplines. The target starting date is in the Summer semester 2023 (no later than July 1st 2023).

What We Will Provide? We will support funding, which will include graduate student’s stipend, tuition, health insurance, professional training and much more for at least three years.
