Postdoc Position in Plant Signaling Mechanisms at Purdue University: The Kessler Lab in the Department of Botany and Plant Pathology and the Center for Plant Biology at Purdue University is seeking a talented postdoctoral fellow to study plant signal transduction in polarized membrane domains.

Research in the Kessler Lab focuses on the role of MLO-based intercellular communication during plant reproduction and the conservation of this signaling pathway in plant development and plant-biotic interactions. The incumbent is expected to employ a combination of molecular genetics, cell biology, and biochemical approaches to elucidate novel signaling mechanisms in plants.

Qualifications: Applicants should have a Ph.D. in plant biology, cell and molecular biology, genetics, or related areas. The successful candidate will be a highly motivated researcher with a good track record of first author publications, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and high proficiency in molecular biology, microscopy, and related techniques. Experience working with plant reproduction is considered an asset but is not required.

Application instructions: Interested applicants should send a detailed CV, a cover letter describing research experience and interests along with career goals, and the contact information for 3 references to Dr. Sharon Kessler at sakessler@purdue.edu.
