The Hicks Research Group at the University of Wisconsin-Madison is pleased to be recruiting 1 to 2 PhD students in the area of sustainability of emerging technologies. In particular, the selected students will work on US Department of Energy funded projects around the life cycle assessment and techno economic analysis of carbon dioxide utilizing materials. Supported students will have the option of pursuing a PhD in Civil and Environmental Engineering through the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering or Environment and Resources through the Nelson Institute for Environmental Studies. The ideal applicant will have a STEM based undergraduate degree with a significant focus on quantitative work. Although some experience with life cycle assessment and/or techno economic assessment is preferred, it is not required. The Hicks Research Group includes students and postdocs of various undergraduate disciplines, and provides a collaborative work environment.
