We have an exciting fully funded PhD opportunity in the Department of Exercise Science, University of Auckland in New Zealand.
Overview
Dr Sarah Ward at the University of Auckland is seeking a motivated PhD student for a project examining how ACL load and muscle contributions change over time following ACL reconstruction surgery. We will use a novel neuromusculoskeletal model to estimate ACL load and muscle contributions during dynamic movements associated with ACL rupture. Selection criteria
A Masters degree in a relevant research area (biomechanics, biomedical engineering, biomechanical engineering, human movement science etc) or a Bachelors degree with first class honours that included a substantial research project/dissertation is essential
Experience in musculoskeletal modelling
Proficiency in computational programming (e.g. MATLAB)
This is a longitudinal study including both healthy individuals and patients, experience in clinical or human movement research or clinical experience is highly desirable.
