We are actively looking for self-motivated students to join the Visual and Intelligent Data Analytics (VIDA) Lab at SMU to conduct cutting-edge research on information visualization, visual analytics, human-AI collaboration and HCI. We have multiple opennings, including PhD/master, research assistants, visiting research students and undergraduate research positions.
For Perspective PhD and Mphil Students
We are looking for PhD and Mphil students in Computer Science or Information Systems. During the postgraduate study, you will be involved in cutting-edge research in the general areas of data visualization and human computer interaction. Good candidates are expected to satisfy the following requirements:
- A bachelor/master degree in Computer Science (or related fields) with good programming skills;
- Being passionated about doing excellent research. Research experience in data visualization, data mining, machine learning and HCI will be a plus.
- Excellent English communication skills, both writing and speaking.

Scholarship and Funding Support
- For Singaporean students: SG$2700 – SG$5000
- For Singapore PR students: SG$2200 – SG$4000
- For foreign students: SG$2000 – SG$3750

- An ongoing PhD/master/bachelor student with a research background in data visualization or machine learning;
- Excellent programming skills in Javascript and Python and being familiar with visualization toolkits like D3;
- Excellent English communication skills, both writing and speaking.
