72 Doctoral researcher positions in the Innovative Doctoral Education Ecosystem for Photonics (I-DEEP)

We are now looking for 72 doctoral researchers in photonics for the Innovative Doctoral Education Ecosystem for Photonics (I-DEEP). I-DEEP includes all Finnish universities with research activities in light-based technologies. The positions will be filled either starting from August 1, 2024, or January 1, 2025.

Photonics research with a close link to industry

The I-DEEP programme addresses the urgent need for training high-level experts in the rapidly growing photonics industry. I-DEEP has close connections with Photonics Finland and the national research center VTT, as well as a network of industrial partners. This allows PhD students to have contacts to the photonics ecosystem during their studies. The curriculum is designed to address the rapidly changing needs of the sector, ensuring that the graduates are adapted to the development of the field.

The I-DEEP consortium is based on recognized world-class photonics research activities and it capitalizes on the established collaboration of the PREIN Flagship for Photonics Research and Innovation and the FinnLight photonics national infrastructure.
