We are looking for enthusiastic students with a MSc or BSc degree to conduct research in the area of materials characterization and advanced nuclear fuels. Students with a degree in any of the following disciplines are encouraged to apply:
- mechanical engineering
- materials science and engineering
- physics
Prospective candidates will be assessed based on how well they meet the following criteria:
- Excellent degree in their relevant discipline.
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills.
The following skills are desirable:
- Research background in mechanics of materials.
- Ability to conduct experiments: we are mainly focusing on in-situ imaging and diffraction experimentation, eg using SEM, (synchrotron) XRD, or neutron diffraction.
- Ability to develop subroutines in Fortran, Python and MATLAB.
- Ability to work with commercial finite element packages.
