Four PhD positions in MLOps for AI-Enabled Cyber-Physical Systems

You will

  • develop cutting-edge research for AI-enabled Cyber-physical systems
  • enhance UAVs adaptability in complex environments, working with Dr. Sebastiano Panichella (UniBe) and Prof. Timo Kehrer (UniBe) & experts of UZH (i.e., Prof. Davide Scaramuzza, Prof. Harald Gall, etc.).

Your responsibilities/Tasks:

  • Conducting research in the field of MLOps for teams of AI-enabled Cyber-physical systems (AI-CPS), e.g., Drones/UAVs.
  • Contributing to the development of innovative MLOps solutions tailored for AI-CPS.
  • Designing and implementing experimental frameworks for evaluating the proposed solutions.
  • Collaborating with other team members to integrate research findings into practical applications.
  • Publishing research results in top-tier conferences and journals in software engineering and robotics fields.

Your profile:

Must-haves:

  • Master’s degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science and/or Robotics (with strong programming skills), or related fields.

Nice to have:

  • Strong background in software engineering concepts and tools, possibly with know-how in MLOps, DevOps, Virtual Reality, or Data Engineering preferred.
  • Excellent programming skills (possibly in Python, C, or C++), strong experience in developing software (prior knowledge in data science, qualitative research, or empirical software engineering is helpful but not required), and experience with relevant tools and frameworks.
  • Excellent communication and writing skills, with proficiency in English. Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative research team.
  • Familiarity with autonomous systems (e.g., UAVs and Self-driving Cars) and Virtual Reality technologies are a strong plus
