Deadline: Till the positions are filled.

The Departments of Crop Sciences and Plant Biology at the University of Illinois and the Global Change
and Photosynthesis Research Unit of the USDA Agricultural Research Service in Urbana, IL, are seeking
three highly motivated individuals for the following positions:

1. Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Crop Physiology: This role focuses on mechanistic understanding of genetically improved crop responses to variable and extreme growth environments. This position is funded by the Realizing Improved Photosynthetic Efficiency (RIPE; https://ripe.illinois.edu/) project at the University of Illinois. Candidates should hold a Ph.D. in Plant Sciences or a related discipline.
2. Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Temporal and Spatial Data Integration: This role involves integrating lidar, thermal, and spectroscopic data to advance our mechanistic understanding of crop-environment interactions. It is also funded by the RIPE project. Candidates should hold a Ph.D. in Geography, Computer Science, Agricultural and Biological Engineering, Plant Sciences, or a related discipline.
3. Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Ecosystem Biogeochemistry: This position will focus on biogeochemical cycling and energy fluxes in current and future proposed Midwestern managed agroecosystems. Funded by the USDA-ARS, the position is limited to U.S. citizens and Lawful Permanent Residents (LPR). Candidates should hold a Ph.D. in Plant Sciences, Atmospheric Sciences, Agricultural and Biological Engineering, or a related discipline.

The successful candidates will be supervised by Dr. Carl Bernacchi and will join a collaborative, productive, and multidisciplinary team of scientists working to improve sustainable, resilient, and productive agricultural ecosystems. Each position carries substantial opportunities to develop novel research questions and contribute to ongoing research within a large, well-funded, collaborative, and highly productive research community consisting of several academic departments, research centers, and institutions located on the University of Illinois campus.

The length of these postdoctoral positions is based on yearly contracts, with annual renewals expected by mutual agreement. Salary is commensurate with experience, and employment benefits are included. Applications will be reviewed immediately, and the search will remain open until filled. For more
